Energy is revitalizing the biodiesel market. BNE's objective is to create a sustainable and rewarding biofuel production market throughout the United States. Blue Northern Energy (BNE) has acquired a special technology for producing biodiesel fuel. The Quicksilver Biodiesel Technology (QSB) is a constant biodiesel production process by the trans-esterification of veggie oils. Multiple feedstocks might be used, enabling the most affordable cost feedstocks to be used. The ability to customize the process constantly, as the feedstocks change by regulating the other reactants to the procedure rather than changing batch recipes, makes it an extremely versatile and more efficient procedure. The procedure also permits a reduction in capital cost of up to 40% and a reduction in operating cost through lower energy cost of approximately 30%. These benefits of the technology have been validated through a 3rd celebration evaluation completed by the Center for Process Innovation.

The QSB technology has been extensively tested at the pilot plant in Budapest, Hungary. Feedstocks from Europe as well as the USA have been shown, both individually along with blends.

Developing and enhancing the technology is a high top priority for BNE, and basic to our worldwide growth plans. In order to support this, BNE will be establishing a new Innovation Center located beside the first biodiesel plant in Newton, Illinois.
